Rectification Column Revamp Completed
At isobutylene-containing fraction processing unit of Divinyl & Hydrocarbon Feed Plant at OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim extractive rectification columns Êò-3201 and Êò-3202/330 were put into operation after replacement of internals carried out within the framework of the program to increase isobutylene output for butyl and halobutyl rubber production.
During revamp carried out jointly with Sulzer Chemtech more advanced fixed valve trays were installed. For the purpose of improving product separation quality the number of trays was increased by 18%. The new equipment is currently under test. Increase in isobutylene-containing fractions processing capacity after revamp is expected to be at the level of 25%.
This is the second major revamp at the plant starting from 2011. Earlier trays were replaced in two extractive rectification columns of butadiene recovery unit which enabled increase of butylene-butadiene fractions processing capacity by 40%.
In the near term it is planned to carry out Central Gas Fractionation Plant columns revamp.
