Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc is a major consumer of utilities among the industrial enterprises of the Tatarstan Republic . Last year, the company consumed about 10% of electrical power and 30% of heat energy generated by the entire energy system of “Tatenergo” JSC. In 2003, the purchased utilities totaled around RUR 5.2 bn.

In line with the energy-saving program, a heat supply system of the Company's first industrial site has been revamped basing on the Synthetic Rubber Plant facilities. All in all, 77 actions, saving RUR 179 MM, were implemented last year. At the same time, effectiveness of the energy-saving measures has augmented more then twice.
