"Nizhnekamskneftekhim"
Inc is one of the biggest producers and exporters of petrochemical
products in the Russian Federation. The company is located
in the city of Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan), which
is on the left bank of the Kama river and 250 km of the
Tatarstan capital - Kazan.
The Company launched
its first production 31 July 1967, and "Nizhnekamskneftekhim"
Inc celebrates its 35 years in 2002. Today, the production
complex of NKNK embodies 10 major plants, seven divisions
(goods and feedstock, ethylene pipeline systems and so forth),
several research and development centers, 15 general-purpose
subdivisions.
The range of products output comprises more than one hundred
items. A total number of the employed is more than 20 thousand.
The Company is town-forming for the city of Nizhnekamsk.
The production
backbone of NKNK is large-capacity plants yielding:
· Monomers as
feedstock to produce different types of rubber
· General and
specialty purpose synthetic rubber
· Basic chemicals
- ethylene, propylene, benzene, butadiene and their derivatives
- styrene, linear alpha-olefins, ethylene glycols, surfactants
and so on.
With such marketed
products like linear alpha-olefins, propylene oxide, polyethers,
ethylene glycols, styrene, as well as a range of synthetic
rubber - isoprene, butyl, ethylene-propylene (EPDM) types,
NKNK is the only or dominating producer in CIS.
At present, NKNK
is commercializing production of butadiene rubber on cobalt
support (SKD-K grade) basing on the-state-of-the-art technological
process. Up-to-date processes, and production of halobutyl
rubber (chlorobutyl- and bromobutyl-based) widely used in
the modern tyre industry to produce tubeless tires, are
being established.
In 2001, NKNK signed a number of Contracts with overseas
companies to build new polymer plants in Nizhnekamsk to
produce polystyrene and polypropylene. These plants are
currently under construction which to be completed in 2003-2005.
Bringing them into operation will initiate creation of polymer
materials plants at "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" Inc.
At the same time,
there is being implemented enhancement of capacities for
ethylene (up to 600 000 TPA), isoprene by one-stage synthesis,
divinyl, polyethers.
To implement these and other projects, which are making
part of the development conception, NKNK is prepared to
cooperate with domestic and overseas investors. Favorable
investment climate in Tatarstan and availability of the
developed bank network create fair conditions for such cooperation.
NKNK is also actively
sharing with "Tatneft" JSC construction of the
Nizhnekamsk Refinery.
The annual volume of the NKNK product output reached a record
figure of over 19 billion rubles in the year 2000. The Company
has its balance sheet profit significantly grown. The Government
of the Republic of Tatarstan set the NKNK personnel a task
to bring the output volume of marketed products to 2 billion
dollars by 2005.
As far back as
in the Soviet Union, NKNK was extensively implementing external
economic activities. The Company's products are being exported
to nearly a hundred countries worldwide including Europe,
America and Far East. To expand and deepen the external
economic activities, there have been established and are
successfully functioning five Joint Ventures, the partners
of which are the companies of the USA, Germany, Czechia,
Finland and a number of other countries.
Production and
economic activities of NKNK during the last years have been
positively appraised by the Russian Federation Official
Authorities: in November 2000, NKNK was awarded the prize
"The Russian National Olympus". Besides, NKNK
won a quality award of the Russian Federation Government
among the ten other major companies of Russia and repeated
that success in the year 2001. The objective of taking part
in such prestigious competitions is to obtain an international
quality certificate ISO-9002 for all the products of "Nizhnekamskneftekhim"
Inc.
To-date, such international quality certificate has been
conferred upon six of the ten NKNK plants.
In May 2002, NKNK
inter alia 16 best companies of Russia was conferred upon
a prestigious international prize "The Silver Svitok"
in two nominations - "Manager of XXI Century"
(personally to General Director V. Busygin) and "Company
of XXI Century" as the most stable developing company.
These awards have been approved by the European Community
Council and conferred for the first time upon "Nizhnekamskneftekhim"
Inc.
Basing on the year 2001 sales, NKNK ranks 25th in the general
list and 2nd among chemical and petrochemical companies
of the Russian Federation per the rating of 200 biggest
companies of Russia published by "Expert-RA" agency.
Per the results
of the competition held by the Ministry for Economic Development
and Commerce of the Russian Federation in 2001, NKNK has
won in the nomination "The best Russian exporter -
2000", and ranked 26th in the rating of the leading
Russian exporters "TOP - 100".
A development strategy of the Company occupying a key position
in the oil, gas and chemical complex of Tatarstan, highly
qualified personnel potentialities and powerful production
potential shall constitute a guarantee for further successful
performance of "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" Inc.
Russian and overseas

For the last three years, he as a reputed manager has become
well known in the business quarters of CIS countries, as
well as in a number of West and East European countries.
