JSC "NKNK" General Director Vladimir Bousygin,
"Tatneftekhiminvest-holding" General Director Rafinat Yaroullin,
BASF Director of Styrene Polymers Department Dr. Werner
Pretorius, and BASF Director of East Europe, Africa and
West Asia Countries Department Winfried Werwie appended
their signatures on the agreement of long-term cooperation
in the field of joint production of Styrene Materials.
According to Vladimir Bousygin words, in
March of the year 2001 on base of JSC "NKNK" on a par with
BASF there will be created the second joint ventures to
produce and sale Styrene-base Polymer Materials. In the
year 2003 STYROPOR plant of 40 000 MT/year capacity is scheduled
to place in operation, in the year 2004 -impact-resistant
STYROPOR production plant of 120 000 MT/year, in the year
2005 - extruded Polystyrene production plant. In JSC "NKNK"
it is also provided for expansion or replacement of production
facilities of Ethylbenzene and Styrene-monomer production.
In particular, it is planned to install up-to-date Styrene-monomer
production plant with 550 000-600 000 MT/year output.
- Cooperation with BASF will allow to create
world-scale production of Styrene-base Synthetic Materials
in Nizhnekamsk, - says Vladimir Bousygin. - It will give
a new impulse for development of the whole Tatarstan economy.
Want to remind that in past year between
Nizhnekamsk and German partners there was signed the contract,
providing for cooperation in the field of production, marketing,
and sale of Polyurethane systems, Polystyrene, Antifreezes,
Hydraulic liquids, Detergents. In April, 2000 BASF affiliate
"Elastogran GmbH" and JSC "NKNK" created the first joint
ventures "Elastokam" to produce and sale Polyurethane systems.
