Development by NKNK Inc experts of a fundamentally
new type of synthetic rubber has been nominated for the
State Prize of Tatarstan.
Among the seven works nominated for the State
Prize of Tatarstan in the field of science and engineering
in the year 2001, there is a team-work by the scientists
of a Kazan Technological University and experts of a synthetic
rubber plant NKNK Inc. The development pertains to manufacture,
and recipe and technology of producing a fundamentally new
type of synthetic rubber - an ethylene propylene one. The
novelty of it is in that so far nobody in Russia has been
engaged in introducing production of such rubber which is
badly needed by a general mechanical rubber goods industry.
It is well used in manufacturing various gland seals, packers
for pumps and engines, and is of high service quality -
strength and frost resistance.
Today, NKNK Inc personnel are successfully
mastering production of ethylene propylene rubber trial
batches in which both Russian and a number of foreign companies
have shown interest. After the current upgrading, a Synthetic
Rubber Plant will launch a commercial production of the
same.
The developers of this rubber are the key
scientists of the Kazan Technological University and expert
operation personnel of NKNK Inc.
